Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, have grown in significance in modern warfare because of their versatility in doing a range of tasks without endangering human pilots. A number of militaries throughout the world have deployed drones for surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeted murders. Drones can fly for extended periods of time without a human pilot, which enables them to gather intelligence or launch attacks over a wide region. This is one of its main advantages. Drones can also be armed with weaponry to launch precise attacks and can be fitted with a range of sensors and cameras to gather intelligence.
On December 14, 2022, the sophisticated jet-engined drone that Baykar constructed underwent its first flying test. Baykar has released a video showing the Kizilelma unmanned aerial combat aircraft taking off. The drone returned to an air base that was in Corlu province, 85 kilometers west of Istanbul. As you can see in this video, the exterior characteristics of Turkiye's latest jet-powered drone are similar to fifth-generation combat jets. Baykar said that apart from being able to carry out conventional drone missions, UCAV Kizilelm can also carry out dogfights in the air
