Tehran is ready to export military equipment and weapons, Iran’s army ground forces commander Kiumars Heydari said on Tuesday according to the student-led news agency Young Journalists Club (YJC).

“Currently, we are ready to export military equipment and weapons,” Heydari said, a week after the United States acccused Iran of preparing to send “several hundreds of drones” to Russia.

In Thursday, 18 August 2022, Iran shows off its power in Russia ARMY-2022 expo.

The 8th edition of the International Exhibition of Military-Technical arms 'ARMY-2022' kicked off with the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow's Patriot Military Park.

Army 2022 Military-Technical arms expo kicked off today, Thursday, August 18, 2022, and will be underway in Moscow for 10 days.

Companies affiliated with Iran's Defense Industries Organization have exposed their latest achievements in the event, including reconnaissance, assault, and surveillance drones, missile defense systems, combat, and aid helicopters, light fighters, heavy and light machine guns, electronic warfare equipment, anti-tank missiles, and night vision cameras among other equipment.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held on the sidelines of the inauguration of the expo, where the defense ministers and senior military officials of 129 countries discussed international issues.

Deputy Chief of Iran's Armed Forces for Coordination Brigadier General Ali Abdollahi and Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali, along with the members of the Iranian defense delegation, took part in the inauguration ceremony and the meeting.

Iran has showcased several advanced drones at the 8th International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2022" in Russia.

A representative of the Iranian delegation told Sputnik that the three drones – one of them an attack drone – put on display by the country apparently garnered particular interest from the expo’s visitors.

The exhibition is traditionally divided into two scientific and commercial parts and will be open to the public.

Hundreds of companies and military organizations have participated in the exhibition.

The event is an environment for Russia and participating countries to showcase their defense equipment.

In addition, Iran has developed the AD-200, a new long-range surface-to-air defense missile system that could be the export version of the Iranian-made BAVAR 373.

First information, of the BAVAR 373, Iranian-made air defense missile system was revealed in August 2016 and the system was formally unveiled during a ceremony attended by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on 22 August 2019 and was declared operational the same day.
