In this video, we discuss whether Ukraine's new domestically produced long-range ballistic missiles will have a nuclear capacity and analyze the potential of Ukraine, a former nuclear weapons country after leaving the Soviet Union, to produce these weapons again.
Nations that cannot be strong and not independent in the sphere of defense cannot look to their future with confidence.
We see that Ukraine has reached this awareness.
Realizing the importance of the defense industry, Kiev leader Volodymyr Zelensky pressed the button to defeat Russia.
Ukraine has started the production of indigenous long-range missiles.
Even Russian leader Vladimir Putin did not expect this much and was shocked by this move.
Fears of nuclear missiles were behind this move that shocked Putin.
But can Ukraine produce nuclear missiles?
Contrary to Putin's fears, it is claimed that Ukraine does not have nuclear weapons for now.
However, Ukraine has a very strong nuclear infrastructure and the capability to produce nuclear weapons.
Ukraine was one of the few countries in the world with nuclear capabilities during the Cold War.
In 1994 Ukraine signed the Budapest Memorandum and gave it up in exchange for security guarantees.
Yet Ukraine had the world's third largest nuclear arsenal.
After the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine inherited 176 intercontinental ballistic missiles and more than 4,000 nuclear warheads in launch silos.
Ukraine also had 103 strategic bombers of various modifications.
However, on June 2, 1996, Ukraine lost its nuclear status when the last warhead was removed from the country.
After eliminating nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, Ukraine refused to use highly enriched uranium.
In 2012, it withdrew all stocks of highly enriched uranium from its territory.
Unfortunately, Ukraine is paying a heavy price for its renunciation.
Russia has occupied Crimea and parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Russia started armed aggression against the Ukrainians, which escalated into a full-scale war on February 24, 2022.
This means that Ukraine's independence is being directly and cynically destroyed in violation of all the principles of the Budapest Memorandum.
In response, Ukraine continues to resist the Russians.
Alongside the struggle for independence, Kiev is also trying to develop its defense industry.
But can these weapons turn the tide of the war and pave the way to victory for Ukraine?
It is not possible to reach a clear answer for now.
But we can draw some conclusions based on current developments.
Let's take a closer look at Ukraine's innovative weapons technology.
