In this video we take a quick look at integrating Home Security with your Smart Home.
The first question you need to ask your self is WHY you want to integrate your Security and Smart Home?
Most Clients discover they prefer the Security Systems native app to the Smart Home System.
So the main reason to integrate Security with Smart Home is for the scenes, like a good bye scene that locks the doors and arms the security when you're leaving the home.
If you like that, there's value to it and you should integrate. If you don't care about that, then don't worry about integrating use a stand alone system.
When we do integrate, we try and use Security Systems that work with both Alarm.com and the Smart Home like Control4 or Savant Home Automation.
Then you get the best of both worlds. For arming and disarming your alarm, and receiving text and email notifications, you can use your Alarm.com app. For scenes you'll still be able to integrate with Control4 or Savant.
