Manufacturers like Google, Nothing, Samsung, Xiaomi and Realme all offer a selection of compelling smartphones at a mid-range asking price. The Pixel 8a is still the best around for camera overall, but rivals like the Nothing Phone 2A and Samsung's Galaxy A55 5G aren't far behind. And the Samsung A35 is an even cheaper option that's surprisingly excellent.
Meanwhile the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is a fantastic mid-range smartphone, boasting impressive specs for a budget-friendly price. Or if your budget is smaller, try the Note 13 Pro 5G which also offers a reasonably good camera and great gaming performance. Don't sleep on the brilliant Xiaomi 13T phone for a bit more cash, while the Poco X6 Pro and Poco F6 series also offer stunning value for money.
