Google's Pixel 8a is speculated to launch in May 2024, but the asking price isn't as budget as hoped if those leaks aren't total cowchud. Still, you can expect a slick Google smartphone experience from the Pixel 8a - and here's the news ahead of my unboxing and review!
So far there's not much chat about the camera tech, but you can expect the usual satisfying point and shoot ease of use. The Google Pixel 8a will also sport the same AI smarts as the 8 and 8 Pro, thanks to the Tensor G3 chipset. So while gaming won't be the smoothest around, you can expect all of that translation, transcription and search based shenanigans.
The Google Pixel 8a will also offer similar specs to the 7a, from the 6.1-inch OLED screen to the plastic finish. Leaks have revealed that it will cost considerably more however, that price now hiked to around £500 or $500. That's disappointing if true, despite the excellent software support, as the A series can't exactly be called 'affordable' any more. No worries though, at the very least the Pixel 7a will drop in price as a result.
