3D printing is changing how drones get designed, tested, and built. Weekly iteration cycles, generative design, and field-driven feedback loops are replacing the old wait.
The old rhythm of drone development was design, send to a machine shop, wait weeks, find out something's wrong, start over which wasn't just slow. It was a filter that killed good ideas before they ever got built. When a design revision costs six weeks and serious tooling money, engineers get conservative. When it costs one print and an afternoon, they start experimenting.

This video is the second in a three-part series on 3D printing in the drone industry. It covers what changes when the wait disappears: how companies like Uvify ship a new design iteration every single week, how One Click Metal produced three fully optimized metal drone frames in 36 hours, and why generative design geometry physically cannot exist without additive manufacturing to produce it.

It also covers what happens when that iteration loop reaches the battlefield. SkyFall's P1-Sun interceptor drone is produced at thousands of units per month, with design revisions flowing directly from troops in the field back to the CAD, then straight into the next print run at effectively zero tooling cost between versions.
