We wanted to talk about the video production and post production work we do at Digital Tribes. This video is a great example of the quality of work our video production team does here.
The post-production phase of a video project is the “putting together” phase. The content has been captured, and now we piece it together. There are a few essential elements to video post-production that need to harmonize and come together so your video becomes the best it can be.
Here are the key elements of post-production work that we do before completing your video project.
The Rough Cut
We edit together your visuals to create what’s called the rough cut of the video. This is where we go over in detail all of your video footage, put it in categories, and select which parts to use to finish post production for the video.
Picture Lock
The next step is getting to what is called a picture lock. It is the stage in the post-production process where the specific pieces of footage are locked in place in a particular order. This would mean when referencing traditional movie production, that it is ready for sound and visual effects editing.
Sound Mix
Now we are ready to create the sound mix. This is where we edit together various audio tracks for your video. We use our video editing or sound mixing software. There are different sound elements that your video might have. They might be dialogue, where actors or spokespeople speak on camera or sound effects such as a dog barking which would be added after the filming is done. Adding music in the background of what’s happening on-screen; and voiceover. This is where someone off-camera talks over the images of the video.
Visual Effects
This is where we add visual effects. We would have already mapped out where the visual effects go in the pre-production phase. Oftentimes the visual effects needed for a video may be something simple. Maybe it is adding a filter, a fade in or fade out, to the video. Or, it could just be some text that needs adding, which is what we utilize the lower third for.
Digital Tribes has done video production and post production for hundreds of projects including some television production. Reach out to us today for a free consultation.
